The 3 Best Street Tyres

Your tyres getting bald? Trynna look for the tyres with the best handling while sending it down the mountains? Look no further, here are the top 3 street tyres:

1. Michelin Pilot Sport 4

The number one choice would be none other than the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 or PS4 for short. This tyre takes top pick due to its ability on the wet and in the dry. Some of its features include dynamic response technology which ensures optimum transmission of steering instructions to the road via their hybrid belt of Nylon and Aramid. The tread pattern continuously adapts to the road for optimising its footprint. Finally, the PS4 stops 3.7m shorter than other brands in the market. However, all these features do come at a cost with the PS4 being one of the more expensive tires around AU$200 a tire, depending on your required size.

2. Bridgestone Potenza RE003

The number two choice would be the famous Bridgestone Potenza RE003. The only reason this takes the second spot is due to it not being as capable as the PS4 in the wet. These tyres allow precise cornering and handling due to its wide centre rib, curved groove wall and triple and a half groove. These tires are a touch cheaper than the PS4 at around AU$180 a tire, but if you are already spending this much, may as well spend a bit more and get the PS4s.

3. Kumho Ecsta PS91

The number three choice would be the Kumho Ecsta PS91. This tyre is much like its competitors with features such as a wide shoulder and rib-type centre block design. These tyres are rated for over 300km/h and this is due to their tread design. In order to provide high speed stability, Kumho have implemented their three dimensional block and high-stiffness advanced belt package. Price wise it is similar to the other two but once again depends on the tyre size you are after.

Overall, the best choice would be the Michelin Pilot Sport 4, even though the tread pattern on the RE003 is the best looking, ability wise the PS4 takes the crown.
